Hi, I’m Patrick
Here to help you be a great leader
“I’m a new leader and not exactly sure what I’m doing. What advice would you give for someone who’s new to this?”
“My employees have gotten lazy and none of them are doing their jobs right. How do i get them to be motivated?”
“I just started a leadership position on a team with morale issues. How can I get them to trust me?”
Being a leader isn’t what any of us expected it to be. We all hope to be Captain Picard and we wind up feeling like Michael Scott. Too often, we’re put in these positions with little experience, no training, and minimal understanding of what’s expected. Bosses and employees suddenly think we should have the answer. Worst of all, most of us aren’t entirely sure we deserve to be here.
Well I’ll let you in on a little secret: you do deserve to be here. You don’t have to be a CEO or a prominent public figure to be a great leader. Great leadership can (and should) happen at the ground level, from anyone. Plumbers can be great leaders, burger-flippers can be great leaders, someone in the unemployed line can be a great leader.
It’s not about what you do, it’s about how you do it and how it impacts those around you.
Great leaders are consistently better at:
- Building healthy, productive teams
- Fostering positive morale in others
- Finding satisfactory resolutions to conflict
No one has to be “born with it”. Anyone can learn to be a strong leader. Do you have good friends? Are you in a happy romantic partnership? The same things that allow you to get through your life today and have contributed to your current successes will be the things that can make you a great leader. Leadership is about uncovering your natural strengths and using them to get s#!t done!
By better understanding yourself, your strengths (the things you can do that no one else can), and your goals – we can work to make you the kind of leader that other people tell their friends about.
